We at HEXAPOLIS are a fan of recreational camping. Nothing compares to the joy of escaping into the wilderness for a couple of days, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. While some prefer to rough it in the great outdoors, there are others who find “glamping” more appealing. As its name quite clearly suggests, glamping is basically “glamorous camping”, and thus combines the thrill of camping with the luxury of high-end travel.
South Korea-based firm ArchiWorkshop has come up with two incredibly innovative tent designs that take glamping to a whole new level. Known as “Glamping for Glampers”, the sleek, high-tech tents allow the occupants to soak up nature, while lounging in the comfort of the cozy interiors. Featuring waterproof, UV-proof as well as fire resistant exteriors, these eco-friendly structures are built to withstand harsh natural elements.
Already installed at a camp-site in the remote Yang-Pyeong region in South Korea, the structures come in two different designs: a long, cylindrical tent that is suitable for rough, rugged terrain and a circular, doughnut-shaped design with a tiny patio-style outdoor area. The tents’ elegant white interiors are beautifully contrasted with brightly-colored mural wall paintings made by local artists. The furniture are mostly custom-made and folding, and therefore, help optimize the available interior space.
