A more realistic version of a mutant turtle may have looked like the this. Certainly a convincing artwork done by Anthony Francisco (who had already shown his fantastical flair in the Guardians Of The Galaxy movie), the image was used to pitch a preliminary idea for the recent silver screen outing of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Suffice it to say, the producers didn’t go forward with this art direction, instead opting for a more traditional look of the famous ninja vigilantes. And perhaps, their decision ultimately made sense – as the more ‘purist’ fans might have thrown tantrums on seeing their childhood heroes’ altered avatars.
As of 31st of August, the 2014 reboot of the Ninja Turtles movie franchise has successfully collected over $274 million in box-office from around the world.
