Anya Stasenko and Slava Leontye, two Ukrainian artists, are making quite a name for themselves, thanks to the multitude of spectacular porcelain animal sculptures crafted by the duo. Apart from the richly detailed and vibrantly colored designs, these figurines possess subtle touches of whimsy and fantasy. The collection includes miniature animal statuettes, ranging from 4 cm to 40 cm in size, such as owl, tortoise, fish, rat and even snail.

Surprisingly enough, the dynamic duo has never actually been trained in ceramics. Of the two, one is a graphic artist and the other, an art teacher. They chose ceramic as the medium for their artwork based on the fact that it is a relatively easy material to work with. Once the basic sculpture has been constructed, the artists undertake the task of covering the entire body of the creature with incredibly realistic details, like feathers, scales and even shell.
