We, at HEXAPOLIS, are a big fan of innovative, and unusual, tree house designs that provide comfort and luxury, while also satiating our desire to be one with Nature. None, however, can beat the experience one can expect at Sweden’s Treehotel. Located in the tiny village of Harads, some 100 km from the Luleå airport, it offers a unique lodging experience, guiding guests away from the stress and anxiety, of everyday life, to the serenity and solace of a pristine Scandinavian landscape.
The Treehotel features six ingeniously-designed cabins, or “treerooms”, which are hung above the ground. These include a UFO, a bird’s nest as well as a stunning mirror-lined structure that reflects the mesmerizing beauty of the unspoiled woods. Each of the tree houses boasts incredibly modern interiors, complete with swanky furniture that complement its basic theme. For isntance, the UFO cabin has adorable cosmos-themed bedding, .
According to the developers, the cabins were built using locally-sourced materials, and weresuspended without inflicting any damage to the trees. The wood flooring, of the tree forts, is completely eco-friendly and devoid of harmful chemical substances. Running on green hydroelectric power, each of these structures contains efficient underfloor heating and low-energy LED lighting systems. Additionally, they feature advanced water-efficient sinks as well as electrically-driven odorless toilets.
Home to only around 600 people, the village also has a restaurant, a bar, a shop and a sauna, in addition to a guest house known as Britta’s Pensionat.
