Even for those who call themselves movie buffs, it is hardly possible to watch all the movies nominated for this year’s Oscars, no matter how good they actually are. To make the job of viewers easier, a London-based website, called The Shiznit, has created a series of hilarious, yet surprisingly honest, posters that provide a gist of what you can expect from each of these films.
The Shiznit’s fun little project, entitled “If 2016’s Oscar-Nominated Movie Posters Told The Truth”, comes a week after the nominees for the 88th Academy Awards were announced. Although looking exactly the same as the original sources, the revised movie posters feature amusing changes, pertaining to the titles, taglines reviews and others, which are intended to reflect the ‘true’ essence of these cinematic plots. So, Disney’s highly-impassioned Inside Out has been aptly renamed to All the Feels, while Ridley Scott-directed sci-fi movie The Martian has become Another Matt Damon Rescue Mission.
The series includes other highly-rated movies, including The Hateful Eight (changed into The Grateful Mates), Mad Max: Fury Road (retitled to One Long Car Chase), Alex Garland’s Ex Machina (or Would You?) and so on.
