If you are ardent TV show fans like us, you must have spent countless hours trying compare your favorite characters, either in terms of their dashing good looks, charisma or even intelligence. So, in case you are wondering who between Don Draper of Mad Men and Breaking Bad‘s Jesse Pinkman is smarter, DirectTV Packages is here with the answer!
The experts at DirectTV have created an amazing visual, listing 45 of the most popular TV show characters in order of their intelligence. So, here you have Homer, Mr. Spock, Cosmo Kramer and many others battling it out for the coveted ‘Smartest TV/Movie Character’ title.
To arrive at the answer, however, the team at DirectTV had to first go through 250 lines of dialogue for each of these fictional characters, grading them in terms of their dialogue complexity. The developers relied on the Flesch-Kincaid system to evaluate them as objectively as possible.
It is important to note that there are several different measures of intelligence out there. For instance, when it comes to being streetwise, Daryl Dixon of The Walking Dead would probably outsmart everybody else in the list. When judged on the basis of dialogue complexity, however, he failed to make the grade, since he is usually a man of few words.
Of the two finalists, Jack Bauer, the badass hero of the television series 24, and Mr. Spock, the latter emerged victorious. That seems rather obvious, given that Spock is part human and part Vulcan, an advanced extraterrestrial species in the Star Trek universe.
