Camping is a favorite activity across all ages, allowing city folks a chance to escape their caged life and relax in the midst of wilderness. If you are a frequent camper and adventure traveler, the new and innovative Estream portable generator is just the thing you need. Powered sustainably by running water, this contraption can in turn charge an array of USB-connected gadgets.
Designed by the brilliant minds at Enomad, the device derives energy from flowing water, irrespective of the time of the day or even the weather. It relies on specially-built turbines to collect hydro power, storing it for later use. According to the developers, it operates just as efficiently during weak current as when hauled by means of a canoe or kayak.
As pointed out by the team, the portable Estream generator is designed primarily for campers and other off-the-grid adventure seekers. When exposed to moving water, it takes around 4.5 hours to get fully charged, following which it can be used to power GoPros, up to three smartphones, cameras, GPS trackers and even tablet.
Thanks to its ingenious modular design, the hydro power-driven contraption can be easily folded for transportation. In addition to being extremely lightweight and easy to operate, it actually doubles as a spectacular underwater lantern. Unlike similar products currently available in the market, the Estream generator requires running water and not sunlight or wind, both of which are highly unpredictable. The team added:
Not only does it minimize the environmental impact of your energy consumption, but it allows users to take an active role in experiencing how energy is produced and used.
